The final years of the 60’s, when the vineyards were in full production, were among the most significate to the estate. The wine Vilacetinho was awarded in various international wine competitions, with special feature to the Gold medal it received in the Republic of Yugoslavia in Ljubliana, formet state of Slovenia, which today is an independent Country.
In the same decade, the Vilacetinho was normally requested for the most significant international wine competitions, such as the one taken place at the FIL in Lisbon. This can be proven by existing documentation in the Commission that patronized this sector.
On July 13, 1965, the wine Vilacetinho would obtain another honor: a document from the Laboratory of the National Wine Board announced that as ‘’an element of showcasing the wines of the Vinho Verde Region during the Portuguese Expo in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, it had planned to install a stand to show Portuguese bottled wines’’. To this end, it was requested with most urgence, ‘’two bottles of each of the wines that were awarded with Gold or Silver medals in the III National Competition of bottled wines. Among the list was the Vilacetinho wine, which proves the Vilacetinho wine had been awarded this distintion.
On the 24th of January 1972, Francisco Girão and Casa de Vilacetinho had sent a letter to the CVRVV confirming that the Vilacetinho wines were submitted and registered to participate in the 1st World Wine Competition, which would take place in Budapest.
